The modern system to monitor Oil & Gas drilling rigs.
Internet connectivity offers in-office monitoring of daily operations.

About R3

R3 is a modern seventh-generation drilling rig monitoring system. Designed from the ground up to offer reliable data collection of the drilling process, R3 leverages new and old technologies to collect and correlate data points in depth and time to give your data the best way to shine.

Configurable to Meet Industry Needs

Both setup and usage of the system are surprisingly simple with a large degree of options. Common features are grouped together sensibly, and the layout follows a good workflow. Administration of the system is easy. Need to add a data variable? Done. Need to calibrate a sensor? Done. Need to add a temporary user? Done. Need to send out data on WITS? Done.

Modern Design for a Modern Industry

No client software required! All you need is a modern web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, or Safari) to interact with the R3 system. A technician sets up the R3 system to work on the rig network with a static local network address, and anyone at the rig site can login to their account. R3 supports any operation system that supports a modern web browser, including desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones with access to the network.

Your Data How You Need To See It

R3 has screens to view Live Data, Plotted Curves, Directional Surveys, and more. Printing is handled as PDF documents and are easily downloaded to be e-mailed or printed as paper copies. Exports are available in both LAS 3.0 and Comma-Separated-Values formats for both time and depth.

Built for the Internet (Be an Office Quarterback)

Internet connectivity to the central server where company representatives can access realtime data just like what the field can access. Data latency is usually around 15 seconds or less. All server connections are encrypted outbound Secure Shell type connections, so your data is safe. In most cases, there is no requirement for special rig firewall rules. Our design allows for controlled remote servicing of the system, which helps mitigate technician visits and costs.

The Hardware Sized to Your Rig

The R3 system is available in four models – Micro, Mini, Standard, and Max. Each model offers varying capabilities to handle the complexity of your rig.

Model WITS (via USB) Encoder Sensors Analog Sensors Digital Sensors
Micro * Up to 10 devices n/a n/a n/a
Mini Up to 10 devices 1 10 3
Standard Up to 10 devices 2 20 6
Max Up to 10 devices 3 30 9

* Micro is just the computer system and does not provide any sensor inputs.

The R3 Sensor Box can support drill line and draw works encoders with ease, 2-wire 4-20mA analog sensors, and PNP digital proximity sensors. Convenient junction boxes allow for clustering of sensors in common areas around the rig and are used to distribute sensors in hazardous areas to monitor operations.

Support for different devices (Serial Port and TCP/IP based) including multiple WITS interfaces, the R3 Sensor Box, and others. Please consult with our team for your specific needs.
